Eligible School Leavers program

Do you have a disability or health condition and considering your options once you have completed school? Looking to gain employment, traineeship or apprenticeship?
JSP is a Disability Employment Service provider that can further assist you with the transition from school to employment or education. We offer help to our job seekers to overcome employment barriers and secure meaningful employment.

To join JSP you must be transitioning from secondary school to employment with evidence you have attended a special school or disability transition to work program to employment or receiving the Disability Support Pension.

You must be:

Be of legal working age

Be assessed by JSP as being able to work for a minimum of eight hours a week with our assistance

Not currently employed for eight hours or more per week

Be in your final year of school (in Victoria students must complete year 10. After year 10 and until the age of 17, students must be at school, in approved education or training or full time employment for a minimum of 25 hours of work)

Attract additional educational funding due to your disability OR are receiving the Disability Support Pension

JSP can provide assistance to school leavers with:

Career Counselling

Identifying goals, strengths and skills

Preparing resumes

Writing cover letters

Improving interview skills

Building confidence

Assisting with job search

Providing individual support once job seekers have started employment
